How to prepare

Steep one pyramid bag in freshly boiled water for 5–7 minutes. Drink it hot, or pour it over ice. Up to 3 cups a day.

The origin

Whole hibiscus flower from Northern Nigeria

In Northern Nigeria, hibiscus has been brewed for generations as zobo: served hot in the cool season and iced in the heat, often with ginger, cloves and lime. The same flower is known as agua de Jamaica in Mexico and karkadé in Egypt.

According to the manufacturer, PiPi Tea sources its hibiscus from family farms in that region, where the calyces are picked by hand and dried in the sun.

How to prepare it

Ready in three steps

Hot water, one pyramid bag and a few minutes.

Heat the water

Bring fresh water to the boil and pour it into your cup or teapot.

Steep for 5–7 minutes

Add one pyramid bag. The longer it steeps, the deeper and more tart the flavour.

Serve hot or iced

Drink it as it is, or pour it over ice for a cold drink.
